Metinvest Polytechnic University

A STEEL CASTLE OF EDUCATION

Mariupol is the Mecca of the steel industry, the largest industry in the country, in Ukraine.
Metinvest Polytechnic is a new university focused on metallurgy. Thus, it was a natural decision to construct the building in steel. The challenge of the project is how to expose the “naked beauty” of the raw steel material both inside and outside of the building with primitive geometrical compositions.

The large roof terraces of the building provide a great vista of the city center and the Sea of Azov. The ground floor of the building has maximum transparency towards the campus park as well as having public programs to optimally open towards the citizens and visitors of Mariupol.
